I've been away most of the time since the last update. In fact, the May 8th update didn't get posted until last night, because I'm just behind on everything. My sister has been very ill, but she is now on the road to recovery. Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers! While I was away, Art replaced the aluminum siding over the area that used to house the bus air compressor. It no longer has the vented door. He also made the first dresser drawer. We decided to go ahead and order the closet doors so we can see how much room we have between the doors and the drawers. This way we'll be able to see if we need to recess the drawer faces or not.

Art did a wonderful job on the bathroom cabinet face and sliding doors too. We finished those and put it together.

We received the kitchen sink we ordered, but I was (kind of still am) wondering if the sink is going to over power everything else in the kitchen with it's size. I asked Art and Dan to hold up the sink so I can get a visual on size. That's one disadvantage to ordering items instead of actually finding and seeing it first. I picked this sink because I like the design. I *really* like the design. It has the square, straight look in combination with the curvey look... like my bird of paradise design. It just goes! So I'm keeping it... even if it too big... it will be covered most of the time anyway! lol

We also have a good start on the kitchen cabinets too. In fact, we had several starts on the kitchen cabinets. The glue wasn't dry on the first one yet (or Friday cabinet), when we figured out it was a little too short widthwise for the sink.... so we pulled that one apart and started again the next morning. We got all done with the Saturday cabinet and then realized we didn't leave an opening big enough for the hot water heater and vent door. Ey-yi-yi! That glue was set, everything was done, and not reusable... sooooo, the Saturday version is now a pile of firewood next to the tree. Take 3 went better.... we at least got it done! I thought these cabinets were going to kill us!

Besides leaving enough room for the heater door, we also discovered that when we put in the wall between the bathroom and the kitchen, we didn't leave enough room between the wall and the hot water heater opening for a 3/4" plywood cabinet side. Sooooo the last picture above is our very custom kitchen cabinet.
We also had a countertop person come out and start working on an estimate for us too.
The next weekend (which is this weekend just past -- we're up to date now! wooo-hooo) we made 3 more cabinets. The cabinet next to the sink, the little end table cabinet, and the cabinet for the stove and oven.

We also secured the hot water heater so we could drive the bus back to storage on Sunday.
