- Front cap window, Genset, Body work -

Well, first the bad news. Our beautiful etched window cracked. We're not a hundred percent certain what happened. We know Friday afternoon, when Louis was here visiting, it was fine. Saturday morning when we went out, it was cracked. It has a little star pattern, which could be an impact point ... so maybe something fell from the sky during the night. Or maybe the temperature made the window contract and expand ... or maybe it was in there too tight ... or maybe we made it a little too wide, and a little too low, and it caught too much of the curve in the cap. In any case our plans for the day - which was going to be to finish covering the inside of that front cap, and frame in the window - was cancelled, and we - deflated. It was pretty disappointing.

We did realize that *if* this window was doomed to crack sooner or later, it's better that it did it now... before we did the work we were going to do that day. The window was in very tight. It took a long time for Rich to install it. He finally got it in by putting the lockring in backwards. It locked on the inside, instead of outside. If we had framed in the window and finished the cap, there is a very good chance we would have to take that apart to get the cracked window out. Now, when we put the new window in, we'll have Rich turn that lockring around - even if we have to open the hole a little, or have our new window cut a tad bit smaller.

Ok, so we didn't get much done that weekend. We did however get an exciting shipment ... our generator and inverter arrived!!! Woooo-hoooo!

This weekend Art did most of the work on the bus. He did some of the body work, the fine tuning stuff he wanted to get done, to prepare SunChaser for painting. We still want to put the visor above the windshields, but other than that, she's about ready.

We also had a meeting with the local awning people. We picked out which awnings, color and sizes we wanted . As soon as the bus is painted, we'll be ready to have them installed.
